What Causes Hands Discomfort With Coldness And Burning?

i have been sick for about a week now and im getting better but yesterday when i was driving home my hands started to feel weird. when i got home i washed them and it felt like they were in a pool of ice and when i dried them off they felt like they were burning. this is really worrying me?
