What Causes Hanging Of Stitches And Bleeding After A Dental Session?
Hello! I got my wisdom teeth taken out today and got stitches on one side of my upper mouth. I did the surgery at 10am and now it s 2:30 pm, I checked the stitch and it s hanging, it hurts a little bit and is bleeding a littler bit. Should I be concerned?
As per your question its around 4 hours your surgery is over and by now the bleeding should have stopped... If it is just a few drops say just a few traces of blood nothing is to worry... It will stop.. But if bleeding is heavy and continuous you should revert back to your dentist.. This is one part of your question..
Other is..
Maybe any of the suture/Stich maybe left loose which you could feel hanging or it can just be a longer cut end of the suture thread ..It is just today you got your tooth removed so a little pain is a normal finding..
Take all the prescribed medicines on time and follow all instructions properly..
If things seems fine to you after reading my suggestions you can observe for 24 hours and go to your dentist for followup tomorrow and i f not revert back today evening itself.
Hope i could have solved your query..
Thanks and regards.. Dr. Honey Nandwani Arora.
