Hi, welcome to HCM. Thanks for asking your query at this forum.
We understand your concern. I have read your question carefully and understood it. I will try my best to answer it.
As you told, your right testicle suddenly became enlarged, painful and hard about two weeks ago and now although the pain has subsided the size and consistency are the same. Sudden enlargement of testis may be due to inflamation of the testis (
Orchitis),
Hematoma of the testis (due to trauma) or torsion of testis (twisting of testis on its own axis and thus compromising the blood supply of the testis).
In your case there is no history of trauma hence hematoma may be easily ruled out. USG shows no functional deficit in the testis, hence torsion may also be ruled out. Then, the most probable cause appears to be an inflammation to the testis.
Inflammation produces increase in size, pain on touch/pressure and the firmness in consistency. Apparently you had all these experience due to Orchitis of right testis. Gradually during resolution of inflammation, pain is first to subside followed by size and consistency. That is why after two weeks you are not having pain, but enlargement and firmness persist which may be normal after few days/weeks.
Since inflammation may be due to some infection, you may need to be prescribed few antibiotics for some days along with anti-inflamatory medicines. You will be alright within few days of therapy.
I hope it answers your query. I wish you all the best.
