I went to a dermatologist because I was sure I had gotten athlete s foot from getting in the shower behind my boyfriend. She did a scraping on both feet and said there was no more fungus and gave me Urea cream to get rid of the hard dry skin that came. Well I can still tell the difference with the skin on my feet and the skin on the inside sides of my feet is still very hard and will not take oil. It s been months now and my feet where my arch is is still dark and if my feet get hot they get very uncomfortable in that spot. What is wrong with my feet?
The possible diagnosis of the condition based on the description is plantar keratoderma. You may continue to apply urea containing cream regularly. Topical keratolytic like salicylic acid can be used in 6 percent concentration at night over the hard areas after consulting your dermatologist. Regards.
