I have a hump type lump on my back its almost like an egg, it s grown rapidly in 2 months and is burning, itchy, sore and even reduced me to tears at night. It s very hard and feels bony like my spine is oddly shaped, been to gp today had X-rays and radiologist called me back for more X-rays strangely then hot a consultant to look at it. It s numb and tingly on the area of the lump also and feels tender or odd when touched. No results for ten days but I m worried now. Any ideas?
1.Painful lump along the spine with rapid growth - possibility of abscess can be considered. 2.Another possible cause could be the lump arising from the bone / spine - for which radiologist would have asked for different views for better delineation of the lesion. 3.Finally spinal chord lesion / extension can not be ruled out. 4.After the x-ray conclusion - the investigation of choice in this case will be MRI spine of the location involved. 5.Initially an ultrasound also helpful to assess the nature of the lump and its source, extensions.
Good luck. Hope i have answered your query, any thing to ask ? do not hesitate to ask. http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-ganesh/62888
