What Causes Hard Knot On Lower Left Rib Of A 15 Year Old?
I m a concerned parent. My 15 year old son had a hard knot show up on his lower left rib.We took him to the doctor today. After doing an exam and measuring the knot he did blood test, an ekg and an xray. The doctors office called back this afternoon and said we need more test. The xray shows no broken bones but they want to do a bone scan. They are not telling us anything about what they are looking for. Any thought????
Clinical examination is more important then investigation. onpalpation it s to be seen whether is firm or hard, mobile or attached to bone. if so it appears to be a growth mof bone. so CTscan of rib can be done. now definite diagnosis is posible. if the growth is out of bone then execion biopsy is to be done. ongetting the report surgical removal can be thoughtof. with report an orthopedic surgeon need to be consulted. hope it will be alright.
