Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Hard Lump Along With Discoloration On Shin Area Post Injury?
Was hit by a hockey puck above the ankle bone on the inner side of my left shin. An immediate large bump appeared. I applied ice immediately after the game three times and twice more the day after. The lump was greatly reduced. 5 days later the bruise came to the surface at the injury location and also on the inside of my foot below the ankle. It has been 18 days and the lump is still there with some local discoloration. I am not bothered walking or skating but it is sore when pushed on. I am a 46-yr old active man. Should I still be icing it after exercising? Is this something I should be concerned with and as such seek medical treatment?
