What Causes Hard Lump On Face And Yellowness In Mouth Post Extraction Of Tooth?

I got my wisdom teeth removed on Saturday the right side of my face looks like it's healing fine but the other side which took like 2 hours to take out my tooth still hurts and now I have a very hard bump on the outside of my face o can feel is that normal? And that area in my mouth is very purple yellow and white but I'm not bleeding
I heard it can get infected and that why the ball forms is that true?

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain a hard lump outside cheek after wisdom tooth removal occurs as a result of inflammation due to injury to the soft tissues leading to inflammation and pain, and hard lump are signs of inflammation and it is a normal finding after any surgical procedure and you need not to worry as it will subside soon as the inflammation will reduce..

As the extraction took two hours on the left side there must have been excessive trauma to the soft tissues and the discolouration of the tissues is due to it and you need not to worry as it will also get back to normal as the healing will proceed and it does not seems to be sign of infection..

The hard lump however can take a longer time to get reduced in size and heal even after the pain subsides and the socket heals but will gradually reduce in size and finally resolve in case if there is considerable healing and no infection at the healing site..

You should do warm saline gargles..

Take the antibiotics and painkillers as prescribed to you by your operating surgeon..

Do alternate warm(not very hot) and cold fomentations over the lump as it will initiate faster healing..

Maintain a good oral hygeine to prevent any infections..

Hope this information helps..
