Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a lump the size of ten pimples put together under the armpit I six weeks ago had complete shoulder replacement. It feels very hard inside. I have popped it and get what looks to me like stinky nasty infected puss, but it still feels hard and full. All I get out of it now is blood.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain a pus filled lump under the armpit can be a hair follicle infection or Folliculitis or can also be bacterial infection (staphylococcus) in the armpit..
I would suggest you to consult a Dermatologist or a General Surgeon and get evaluated , a clinical evaluation and investigations like bacterial culture of the discharge and blood tests can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..
You can be advised to take antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkiller and also topical application of steroid and antibiotic ointment.. In case if the recovery is slow Incision and Drainage can be done..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
