What Causes Hard, Red, Tender Skin In Left Calf?

my left calf is red, hard, and the skin is very tender and sore. I have had staph in that calf before. I ran a very high temp last night, but it seemed as though my entire body was achey, tender and sore. I am still aching, but it is the leg that is concerning me.
