What Causes Hard Spot On Abdomen After An Injury?

1 week ago I feel riding my bicycle. I landed with the end of the handle bar in my stomach on the left side. It was hard enough to bend the handle bar. I went to the ER & they did a CT scan of my chest & abdomen. They said nothing was broken just bruised lower rib & bruised abdomen & said take ibuprofen & ice. I now have a small hard spot righy where the handle bar hit. Should I be concerned? Or just continue with the ibuprofen and ice?

Hello.
I have gone through your question and understand your concern. There is nothing to worry as CT-scan is said to be normal with only minor injury. Pain and swelling will take some time to subside as rib cage move continuously as we breath. It takes about 6 to 12 weeks for rib to heal; be it fracture or bruise it takes more or less the same time. Avoid activity that causes rib cage pain, remember most rib injuries usually heal on their own. Continue taking ibuprofen for pain relief. Hope your concern is answered. Thank You.
