What Causes Hard Swollen And Warm Lump At The Bee Sting Site?

My daughter was stung by a bee last night. usual pain, slight redness and very minimal swelling. Starting today at about noon her thigh started swelling, very red, hard , skin vey warm to touch and now has swelling in approx. 7 inch diameter around sting site. Is this an allergic reaction requiring medical attention or could it be infected?mxd
