Hello,

Hard veins on the neck is commonly due to inflammation, inflammation of the vein may be due to various reasons like trauma, injury, dehydration, strain due to bad posture, side effects of some medications, sleep apnea, etc. Since you are having pain, you can take Acetaminophen, one SOS when required. Stay well hydrated. Take adequate sleep and balanced nutritious diet.

You are suggested to get clinically examined by a cardiologist, get cardiac function tests, all blood tests, investigations and required imaging tests done to rule out Jugular vein distension, CAD, symptoms of heart failure, cardiac tamponade, etc. You will be treated according to the diagnosis made.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
