What Causes Hardness In Stomach When Diagnosed With IBS?

I am a 44 yr old female. I have a general ibs diagnosis, but have never been prescribed medication nor placed on a specific diet to try and avoid the symptoms. I had my first colonoscopy Aril 2010 and was due for another in April 2015 because they found a polyp in 2010. I finally got around to making an appointment yesterday, but will not be seen for a consult until the end of July and likely will not have the procedure until October due to my busy work schedule. For a while now, at least a month...maybe longer, after most every meal I feel like I have pop rocks in my stomach. It s uncomfortable and embarrassing to have to continuously run to the bathroom while at work. I don t really know what to do.

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

You need to start taking medication for IBS to avoid symptoms of frequent diarrhea. In addition, the polyp needs to be removed and sent for histopathological examination.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
