I am getting spasms in my head. They are not continuous. They seemed to have been there for the last two years or so. I had an MRI 2 years ago, and it was fine. I am also Type 2 diabetic - kind of borderline, and my thyroid test which I had in July also was normal. Now, for the last ten days I have been feeling these spasms. They happen especially when I suddenly get up from a lying down position, and take a while to stop. The spasms are on the left side. There was also some dizziness when I tried to get up and unsteady gait. At night sometimes I wake up due to the throbbing, and the heart also seems to be beating faster. But, when I wake up and sit up the spasms reduce / stop after a few seconds / minutes, and the heartbeat also returns to normal. I also thought that it could be due to PMS, but it doesn't seem to be the case. I am 49 years old. What could be the cause?
