What Causes Head Waves, Convulsion And Neck Pain?

My son felt head waves, then his jaw locked open, then he collapsed and convulsed. On the way down he was grabbed to keep him from going overboard, then hit his head, and neck. He has a black eye, and his neck hurts now. He doesn t seem to have any other symptoms. Emergency room mad had his heart monitored, said there is a heart murmur. Referred us to a cardiologist. What could possibly be wrong?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

He might have succumbed a seizure attack. Detailed neurological evaluation is required with EEG and MRI brain.

The doctor detected a murmur( abnormal heart sound) which indicates a congenital heart disease probably a valvular heart disease. An echo test is also required. Nothing much to worry and your treatment is in the right track.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
