Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello! I have a very sharp, painful headache. My lower left abdomen hurts, and sometimes is painful around to the left side. If I push on it, it hurts. I have a fever of 102. The abdomen pain has been there for three days and seemed like constipation at first, then moved to diareah. Last night the headache came with strong abdomen pain, and chills.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Sharp and painful headache can occur in number of conditions like migraine, cluster headache, sub-arachanoid hemorrhage etc. Lower abdominal pain associated with constipation and diarrhea suggests a gastrointestinal tract (GIT) disorder. Irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, GIT growth can all lead to similar symptoms. However, associated fever suggests an infective pathology. Infection of the GIT is associated with fever, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Constipation is less frequent in GIT infection. I suggest you to consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment and prescription of appropriate medication.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
