What Causes Headache After A Dog Bite?

My friends three year old daughter (they live in the Philippines) was bite by a 4 month old puppy yesterday, today the girl has a headache and the bite site is slightly red and slightly warm. Should the mother wait until morning to see how things are or should she take her to the doctor right now?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
I understand your concern
Headache could be due to flu symptoms.
But i would suggest to go for rabies vaccine to prevent against the rabies.
It is very lethal disease, so go for full dose schedule: 0,3,7,14, 28 days.
Meanwhile take symptomatic treatment:
Tablet diclofenac or inuprofen for pain
Maintain hygiene at the bite area
Apply warm pad application.
Hope this may help you
