What Causes Headache After Increasing Lamictal Dosage?
I just recently started Lamectal as a mood stabilizer for bipolar depression in addition to my Latuda 160mg. My Doctor just doubled my dosage from 25 mg. to 50 mg. I have been having daily headaches. Could this be the cause? My head feels like it is going to explode!
Lamictal is an anti-epileptic drug; it's the trade name for the generic Lamotrigine.
One of its common side effects include headache. As your head feels like going to explode after taking the double dose, I advise to cut the dose off and discuss with your doctor about this side effect. He/she will decide to cut the dose or give any alternative medication.
Other problems should be ruled out including oscillations in blood pressure, viral infection or psychological affections.
Hope it helped. Dr.Albana
