What Causes Headache After Taking Eliquis?

My husband was put on Eliquis on Monday, by Wed. he had no energy, dull headache and his blood pressure would bottom out (110/69). The heart Dr. (Saw him for the first time Mon.) thinks it is the carvedilol he s been taking for years. He s been active all summer until starting this new medicine?

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, it can be due to Carvediolol if he is having very slow heart rate and hence inadequate blood to the brain may lead to such symptoms or dizziness. But occasionally blood thinning medicine which he has started recently is rarely associated with such side effects. The primary cause of starting Eliquis should be kept in mind. If it is for some clot, possibility of clot to brain may be associated with neurological signs n should be ruled out.
