What Causes Headache Along With Tinnitus And Earache?

Hi, I am 23 year old Female. I have since Friday 21st April tinnitus. That day I also had severe frontal headache (occipital a few days ago) which lasted only for that day. Saturday (22nd April) night I woke up twice in the night because of the noise. My tinnitus is not very loud and is suppressed by the fridge noise or the ticking of a loud clock. The noise is a buzzing or like the olden day internet dial tone. Before Friday and still currently I have sore throat. Wednesday (26th April) I had left ear pain. During Easter holiday I had loud noise exposure from a family member. Thursday (27th April) I spoke loudly and had my tinnitus get worse. Any loud noise increases by tinnitus. Monday (24th April) I went to class and the sound of my teacher speaking made my tinnitus increase temporarily. I went to ENT specialist the same day and they didn t find anything wrong with my ear. I had a hearing test and there was slightly decrease in left ear. He said I don t have any anatomical problem, but a functional one and I have a cold. Doctor gave me medicine for 7 days and said that the noise will go away in 5 days after taking medication. He said to visit him in 10 days. Medicine used currently Psoriasis: - Dermovate (Clobetasol propionate) - Tea Tree Oil Tinnitus: -Ibuprofen - Betahistine Dihydrochloride -Xylometazoline Other: -Baby power (Talcum powder) -Coffee (last drank on 21st April) Sunday 30th April was the 7th day of medicine and unfortunately I have had no improvement. Currently I still have the nosie and a bitter taste in the mouth.

Hi,

Let me tell you there can be other reasons for sounds, buzzing and pain in the ears; as you had already met an ENT specialist and your condition has not improved. As a dentist I feel there can be other possibilities for this problem like: temporomandibular joint disorder, myofacial pain dysfunction syndrome and lack of teeth in your mouth may be some or all.

Sinusitis rare case. All these conditions have strong predisposition for ear ache, sounds, tinnitus. I suggest you visit a dental hospital and meet an oral medicine and radiology specialist so that if any dental cause is found,it can be corrected.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
