What Causes Headache And Blurred Vision Followed By Fainting?

My brother is 53 years old. Yesterday he collapsed to the ground. He said he did not feel dizzy or have any indication it was going to happen, he just dropped . Did not lose consciousness. For a few days before, he had headaches, stiff neck and slight blurry vision.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
I understand your concern
It seems your brother had Transient Ischemic attack.
This must not be ignored as there is risk of stroke in future.
Visit to neurologist is necessary.
Get investigations done like blood glucose, blood lipids,CT scan head,MRI angiography,ECG.
-He needs to be put on low dose aspirin.
-Balanced diet, regular exercising like brisk walking for 30-45 minutes 5 times a week.
Avoid alcohol and smoking are all preventive measures against stroke.
Further specific management depends on investigations.

Wish him good health
