What Causes Headache And Dizziness After Eating?

I have headaches often. Many times they come right after I eat. I have the feeling that I could pass out. When I stand up I feel like my balance is off. When I sit down I feel like if I m still I m going to pass out. This last for about 20-30 minutes. I m being treated for acid reflux. My doctor suggested vertigo. Any ideas?

Neurologist 's  Response
Hi,

Your history indeed looks like vertigo. If it is more upon standing and you feel like passing out, then your BP should be checked for a significant fall in spine and standing position (orthostatic intolerance).

Routine blood work including sugar, electrolytes, hemoglobin level should be evaluated. Some other maneuvers also need to be checked in vertigo patients. So, I suggest you to see a neurologist in person.

Hope that helps. If you have any further questions, I shall be glad to have you in follow-up.

Regards,
Dr. Ajay Panwar, Neurologist
