What Causes Headache And Nausea After Taking Wellbutrin?

Yes curious about the effect of wellbutrin. My girlfriend was prescribed 100mg twice a day, she was told to take one for the first week and then 2 the second. She started today and actually took one at 10 and another one @ 1400. She is complaining of a real bad headache, little nausea and dizziness. Is it possible she .may have overdosed?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Wellbutrin is generally started at 200 mg a day divided in two doses, so it is unlikely she is having overdose if she has used only two tablets of 100 mg a day.

Headache and nausea may happen with many conditions but may also be side effects of Wellbutrin. This is why, if they do not get better in the next 3-4 days or she is any worse, she will need to let her doctor know.

I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
