What Causes Headache And Restlessness In The Legs While Suffering From Labrynthitis?

I was diagnosed with right-ear viral labrynthitis on June 2, 2017. I was prescribed to take Meclizine (25mg) to reduce the inflammation in the canals. Because it made me VERY drowsy,, I stopped after one day. My internist said I need to get back on it at least for four days, so I am. However, I am experiencing other neurological problems, and wonder if they can be attributed to the labrynthitis, or something else....I have no energy (like when I had hepatitis in the early 90s). I have a dull headache; my left leg is restless frequently; I am also having problems with strength in my left arm. Prior to the Meclizine I was having much difficulty sleeping trough the night. I am 71 years old. Could all of these problems be related to the deep ear infection? I ve been doing some on-line research, and some of my symptoms also align with those of MS. What is your opinion?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Labrynthitis or deep ear infection may cause headache and vertigo but do not causes any weakness in the limbs specially if in one side. True one side weakness is mostly because of brain pathology be it MS, stroke or sometime infections. So you should urgently see you doctor to examine you if there is true weakness he may ask for an MRI of the brain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman , General & Family Physician
