What Causes Headache And Sore Throat Along With Fever?

Last Wednesday I began having a headache and my throat was sore on one side. I ve also been running a fever around 100.5. On Saturday I noticed I have a sac hanging beside my uvula that is so tender it s difficult to swallow. My doctor s office does not have any openings and suggested that if I can t wait until tomorrow to see them that I should go to the emergency room. Should I?

Hi
From the history provided it seems that you have a significant infection in the posterior aspect of your mouth. You should consult your ER immediately. If left untreated it may lead to inflammation of the airways and you will find it difficult to breathe. At least once in hospital you can be assessed for the severity of your problem and be admitted if necessary.
