What Causes Headache, Blurred Vision, Blackouts And Nausea?

Our son is having headaches, blurred vision, blackouts, nausea. He has had Crohn s but it seems to be under control with no symptoms. He is 24. These symptoms came on suddenly. He has been to Urgent Care but they told him they think it is too serious for them to handle. He can t see his PCP for almost a month. What are some possible causes?

Hello,

I am a little unclear about the UrgentCare management. If they thought it was too serious why did they send him away they should have sent him to a hospital emergency room.

If it's the first time he's having these symptoms I think he should be checked in the ER for neurological signs and brain imaging be considered.

Possible causes can be something benign such as a migraine or sinusitis but may also include several types of brain lesions such as stroke, inflammation, infections.

So if there is a headache with episodes of loss of consciousness and visual loss neuroexam and imaging should definitely be considered.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
