What Causes Headache In Forehead Area With Neck Pain?
I have had a headache in my forehead area (skin is sore to touch), off and on low grade fever, very stiff neck at the base of my skull and two swollen occipital lymph nodes on the back right side of my neck for a week now. It has been almost impossible to sleep because of the headache and neck pain. My doctor did a flu swab and tested me for lyme disease.....both were negative. Any ideas if it s just a stress headache and how I can treat it and fix it? I have no dizziness, no loss of appetite, and the only thing the doctor send me home with was Naproxen 500mg which does help me feel better for a few hours, but it s bad for my stomach because I have GERD
I passed carefully through your question and would explain that your symptoms could be related to a local infection or inflammation (considering the inflammation lymph nodes).
Anxiety may play an important role in all this clinical scenario too.
Coming to this point, I would recommend performing a brain and cervical spine MRI study in order to exclude other possible causes (sinus infection, etc.).
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
