What Causes Headache, Lightheadedness And Decreased Appetite?

Yesterday my symptoms started out as feeling light headed, which then progressed into a sharp headache. Last night I woke up with stomach aches, almost like my stomach was rolling. Today I still have the headache and the rolling pains in my stomach. I don t have an appetite whatsoever. All I ve eaten in the last 18 hours is a few pretzels and I have been drinking water. I don t know what to do!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The symptoms could be due to GERD or gastroesophageal reflux disease. Lack of proper food intake could have caused the dizziness and headache. Low blood pressure and blood sugar should be ruled out. Acid secretion should be reduced with proton pump inhibitors like rabeprazole. These drugs should be taken half an hour before food for 5 to 10 days.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
