What Causes Headache, Nausea And Throat Tightness?

Yesterday morning I woke up with a severe headache, mostly on the forehead, kind of a burning feeling then generally ache all over the head. It also made me nauseous when I would get up and move around. The confusing part is I was more nauseous lying down. It improved later in the day but headache never completely went away. At 2am this morning I woke up with severe nausea and had to run to the bathroom and vomited over and over. The vomit was very acidic as if I d eaten a lot of citrus which I hadn t. Now when I try to lay down again I get nauseous, that tightness below the throat. No stomach pain at all.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You might be having a viral infection causing you to have headache and vomiting. You may need to take some ibuprofen and paracetamol for the headache and make sure you drink plenty and taking also oral rehydration solutions to substitute the loss of water and salts that happen due to vomiting. Make sure you rest.

You should feel better in 2-3 days. If no improvement or any worsening you will need to see your doctor as sometimes problems with the brain and its outside layers (meninges) can cause similar symptoms.

I hope I have answered to your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Kind regards,

Antoneta Zotaj
