What Causes Headache, Stomach Ache, Fever And Appetite Loss?
My six year old daughter has been complaining of headache and stomach pain for a little over a week. She hasn t had a solid bowel movement in this time. She has very little appetite and is extremely lethargic. She has had a low grade fever occasionally. We were thinking stomach virus, but concerned lasting this long.
Hi, Low grade fever associated with headache, stomach ache, loose motion, loss of appetite and lethargy can be due to
G.I infections (Bacterial/viral/parasitic), Anemia, Malarial fever, Protein energy malnutrition, Tuberculosis of the gut, Urinary tract infection etc etc
A proper assessment ll be required clinical evaluation and laboratory tests like Complete blood count, Urine for r/e and c/s, Stool for r/e and c/s, Renal function test, Widal test, Malarial fever test USG of the whole abdomen, Chest x-ray.
Consult with a pediatrician with all these reports. Meanwhile, she can have anti-biotics like Cefixime and metronidazole, Ibuprofen for fever and headache, And a vitamin solution containing zinc and folic acid.
Take care
