Hi, My name is Aditya Kumar, I am in Tokyo. At moment I am running with Head pain, I believe this pain is due to cough coagulated/jam in head part (as Doctor described me in Inida) . Doctor prescribed me some medicine long time for such symptom but I forget the medicine name and prescription slip. At present I have Combiflam, Meftal-SPAS and PAN. I think anyone of the medicine will work in such cases. Please suggest. Thanks in advance. Aditya
Hi, Cough with mucus or sputum could be due to upper respiratory infection like pharyngitis, laryngitis, epiglottis or tonsillitis etc. You are taking drugs as you stated are only symptomatic but not definitive. URTI is mostly due to bacterial infection or viral or some times allergic. You will require first your throat inspection thoroughly by ENT specialist consultation and proper diagnosis. Then you should be given antibiotics (quinolones or macrolides group preferred), expectorants with bronchodilators like alpha agonists or anticholinergics and other symptomatic treatment what you are taking right now. So,forget about old prescription and consult ENT doctor urgently, you will be alright then.
