What Causes Headache While On Chemotherapy?

Hi Doctor, My son is 18 year Old now and he has diagnosed as ALL in 2013 Feb and completed intensive Chemotherapy in Sept 2014.. Now he is in maintenance chemotherapy. some time he will complaining of headache. is it because of stress or should we need to do any test. Pls. advise. He is studying in 12th Std. --Thank you

I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

Headache can have many different causes. For that reason in order for us to distinguish between different types of headaches and make diagnostic hypotheses you should have provided some more info like headache location, duration, frequency, character, other accompanying symptoms, triggering factors etc.

However if the headache is episodic you shouldn't be that worried. When headache is related to issues like brain tumor it is of a persistent nature and progressively growing in intensity. Most probably it might be tension type headache, most common headache often triggered by anxiety.

However as I said more details might indicate to other directions, so you can write again providing some more info which might prove useful.
