Hello. Thanks for asking from HCM.

I can understand your concern. The headache after physical activity could be due to

:: Stress related - It occurs because of physical exertion, dehydration and muscle spasm like eye or neck. It is a dull headache, mostly bilateral, just above eyebrows, not related with nausea, vomiting and relief occurs after rest and hydration.

If such type of headache is there, you should
: ask him to hydrate himself. Drink at least 3 litres of fluids daily
: avoid taking tension about matches
: maintain proper sleep pattern
: ask him to take painkiller like Diclofenac sodium after proper prescription.

:: Sinusitis - It is one possibility as he had viral fever 2 weeks ago. Viral fever can lead to sinusitis. Headcahe in sinusitis occurs in forehead or below eyes, feels like heaviness, mostly during daytime, more on forward bending, associated with post nasal discharge, nasal stuffiness.

If he is having such type of headache, consul doctor for management. While at home, you can
: ask him to take steam four times daily
: avoid cold condition and food.
: ask him to drink hot beverages
: ask him to take combination of cetrizine, paracetamol and xylometazoline combination after proper prescription
: ask him to take antibiotic therapy like co-amoxyclav course after proper prescription

: Neck muscle spasm - it can cause pain in neck and headache. It is dull, tenderness on neck, more on moving neck, relief after taking rest and stretching.

It can be managed by
: neck masssage
: neck exercise to make muscle more powerful
: painkiller like Diclofenac sodium after proper prescription
: apply warm compresses over neck
: apply painkiller gel like Diclofenac gel at pain site

Hope it will help you. If still no relief, you should consult doctor.

Thanks. Take care.
