Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi Doctor: my mother is advised Vesoret recently, but she experiences severe headache after consuming this medicine which remains for long hours, I tried to look into it s side effects but couldn t find anything. She is also on RA treatment medicines (including Methotrexate, Etoricoxib, Folic acid, calcium, Vit D, Hydroxychloroquine.) What could be the cause of these headaches?
hi sir/mam,vesoret is not known to cause headache.but it may be a hypersensitivity or idiosyncratic reaction.among the other medications she has been using, only etoricoxib and hydroxychlorquine can cause head ache but only in few cases.once you can stop vesoret for 1 week and if the pain subsides,we can confirm it to be the causative factor.one more thing is if she had been on RA medication recently, you can also think of both the above drugs as contributing factors.if she had been on RA drugs for a long time now and the headache started recently,we can rule out both of them. i conclude saying to stop vesoret(its not an emergency medication) for a week and observe the change.if headache disappears,do report to the prescribing physician for an alternative.hope my explanation is clear.any other clarifications from my side, please let me know.i'm always ready to address your concerns.thank you.take care.bye.
