Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Headaches Along With Cigarette Smoke Smell?
My husband, 46, has been having headaches for about a week, he also says he keeps smelling cigarettes and no one smokes, he just had an intense pain going from behind his ear to around his eye. It took him to the floor but it wore off quickly now he says it just faintly burns there and he has a headache
If these intense headaches are new for your husband he needs to see a doctor as any new type severe headache needs proper evaluation to rule out important brain conditions. The presence of the cigarette smell may indicate that he might be having he headache due to the area of the brain that is responsible for the sensation of smells.
It is important for him to have a good physical examination with neurological examination, rule out drug use and also brain masses.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General & Family Physician
