Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For the last 4 days I have had a headache (from dull to severe) and nausea that intensifies after I eat. When it started I thought I had food poisoning and still feel like I was poisoned by have not had vomiting or diarrhea. I felt pretty good this morning but by 9:00 had a severe headach. Work has been very stressful. Could this just be caused by stress?
1. The most common cause of a headache with nausea after eating is a food allergy and/or gastritis but as I'm unable to examine you directly, other possible cause(s) which one can look are: postprandial hypotension or hypoglycemia so check with your primary care doctor to exclude the causes and to treat the one which comes out on physical examination and investigation, till then
- chew cardamom, ginger, lime or crushed ice - avoid fatty/spicy food and prefer bland diet. - eat slowly and take smaller meals more frequently
