What Causes Headaches Along With Numbness And Twitching In Head And Face?

For the last 6 months, I have had constant headaches and numbness in the left side of my head and face. Now, for the last month or so, I have had very rapid muscle spasms/twitching in the left side of my head above the ear and also above my left eye. Sometimes, my left cheek muscles and lower left jaw also twitch. What is wrong with me?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to Health Care Magic Team.

Understanding your concern about your health.

Numbness, twitching on left side of face, cheek and constant headaches are possible symptoms of facial nerve paralysis, nerve which supplies to head, neck, eye, cheek, and lip region.

Damage to facial nerve because of any reason leads to twitching, numbness, paralysis in this area. It can cause drooping of one side of face as well.

Treatment would be do mouth excercises atleast 30minutes daily. Corticosteroids are effective treatment measure for this condition.

Consult dental surgeon nearby you and get proper treatment done.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
