Hello,
The symptoms are indicative of stress (physical and emotional). Help your husband relax, if obese he should maintain healthy weight. He should do regular walking. He should develop healthy eating habits. Taking well cooked whole grains, vegetables, fruits, berries, low fat dairy products.
He should avoid taking red meat, full fat dairy products, refined flour,
trans fat, oily junk food, etc. He should cut on salty snacks. If diabetic, he should control his blood sugar level at all cost. He should avoid tobacco(smoking), alcohol and caffeine intake as they trigger the symptoms. Certain underlying health conditions like
diabetes,
cardiovascular disease, thyroid and nervous system problems, kidney disease can also trigger the symptoms.
Get him clinically examined by a local GP in your area , get all required tests and investigations done. He will be treated accordingly. In the meantime, he can take
acetaminophen to get relieve from headache. He should get connected to a detox center to be able to quit
cigarette smoking gradually.
Maintain a regular blood pressure chart to monitor his blood pressure. Untreated blood pressure may complicate to CAD, coronary artery disease., chronic
hypertension, dementia, etc. He should take adequate amount of water and fluids to prevent
dehydration and hence headache. Get him examined, evaluated and treated at the earliest.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
