my daughter has a concussion. since feb. had pain in head/pressure and pain in the back of her eye since feb when hit with a volleyball on head. tonight she bent over in the shower..and she felt a blood vessel in her eye pop. the pressure in her head and eye went away- first time in 6 months. but the whites of her eye is really red, and now the pressure/ pain is now a little greater.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You have to get her retina and optic nerve checked . the red eyes could be due to sub conjunctival hemorrhage but sometimes in concussion there could be hemorrhage in the retina i.e. the back of the eye too.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
