What Causes Headaches And Sinus Congestion While Having Generalized Anxiety Disorder?

Lately,I ve been having weird tingling sensations in my head,odd popping feelings,slight headaches afterwards,jaw pain,and sinus congestion. I ve been diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder,so could Anxiety be the cause? I ve gotten increasingly anxious within the past few days.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have headaches and sinus congestion while having generalized anxiety disorder. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to certain reasons like mogtaine , stress and anxiety , but in your case the symptoms are probably occurring due to sinusitis that too due to viral infection .

I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist without any delay before infection get spread into eustachian tube . Doctor may order CT scan , throat swab test along with viral culture test . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like amoxicillin , penicillin along with decongestant and expectorant .

For now take steam several times a day , take paracetamol and do warm saline gargles . Also avoid cold beverages , drink glass of warm water with one spoon honey and apply warm compresses on face .

Doctor may also refer you to neurologist for headache due in migraine .
