What Causes Headaches And Tightness In The Neck Muscle While On Synthroid?
I was given radio active iodine years back because of Graves disease. I take synthroid because my thyroid level was low. My t3 level is 1.5. My resting heart rate is 100. The muscles in my neck are tight and I m having headaches . Could my tsh need to be higher to lessen my symptom?http://pikemocountyclerk.org/election-results/
Thyroid deficiency should be managed carefully as both increase or decrease levels can cause many problems.
High heart rate and muscle stiffness may be indicating an overdose of Synthroid but this is not necessary. The best indicator of a proper dose is the TSH level.
You should check the TSH level and keep that upper in normal. If it's low that would mean an excess of the dose and may need to reduce the dose of Synthroid.
If that is normal then we should see for other causes of your symptoms.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care

Dr Mahboob Ur Rahman , General & Family Physician
