What Causes Headaches, Dry Eyes And Anal Pain While On Vagifem?

I was prescribed vagifem six days ago and have been using it since then. Now, I have mild headaches, dry eyes, I was spotting yesterday (has stopped now) but I woke up this morning in excruciating pain in my anus!
I had gone to the doctor because my vagina was dry and itchy but vagifem is making it worse. I am 49. I saw the doctor yesterday and she says I need to give it time, but I am worried because she did not even do an internal exam or hormone test before putting me on the meds.
