What Causes Headaches, Fever And Frequent Urination After Having Sex On Period?

Hi! Okay, so I had unprotected sex on my period, maybe three weeks ago. I had to pee a lot after but I didn t actually go. That stopped within a few days. Last week I had protected sex, and the same thing happened but now I m having achy joint, headaches, a bit of nausea, and a fever... I really hope I m not pregnant because the thought just scares me to death. Anyway... I was just wondering if its something I should be worried about. I ve done a bit of research and it said the possibility of me getting pregnant on my period, however unlikely is possible.. Thank you!!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The probability of getting pregnant during your period is very low. You can do a pregnancy test to exclude completely the possibility. I also suggest to do a urine test to check for a urine infection. Meanwhile, I recommend to use Acetominophen for the headache. I also suggest to drink a lot of liquids.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
