What Causes Headaches, Weakness And Fainting Sensation When Diagnosed With Multiple Sclerosis?

My nephew is on the way to the er. He was recently tested for ms because spots appeared on his mri. He has had severe headaches and weakness and faint feeling. They did a spinal tap and it showed negative. A day later and he doesn t look good and is having bad head pain again and now he cannot lie down. What could this be?

Hello,

The headache immediately after spinal tap may be a complication of the tap. It resolves on lying down and sometimes a simple analgesic may be required. There is nothing to worry. However, the spots on MRI need to be discussed with the neurologist for the possibility of MS or any chronic viral infection.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
