for 5 days I have had body aches, hot/cold spells, no appetite, no energy, mild cough, severe headaches and dizziness. I went to er Friday, they sent me home and said it wasn't flu or pneumonia, and to take tylenol for pain. It hasn't gotten better, and all symptoms will come on all of a sudden.
Your symptoms of body aches, hot/cold spells, no appetite, no energy, mild cough, severe headaches and dizziness suggestive of some viral or bacterial infection likely and probably with respiratory involvement. You can go for complete blood count.
If WBC count high, there is likely bacterial infection.Antibiotic like levofloxacine with some anti allergic like levocetrixzine would be helpful.
If WBC within normal limit, there is likely some viral infection. For that supportive medicines like anti allergic, anti tussive and paracetomal and NSADs group would be helpful.Body will treat infection on its own in maximum 7 days.
During both situation though not feeling like to eat, continue taking food as much as you can like milk and fruits to make your immunity sustain.
Hope I have answered your query. Regards, Dr.Chintan Solanki.
