What Causes Headaches?

I wake up and go to sleep with a headache. Throughout the day my head aches but I don't notice it if I am being active. This have been going on for about 7 years now. I have had a couple of MRIs done and there seems to be nothing wrong with me. If this is true, then why am I still feeling these headaches. I do notice that my head doesn't hurt as much when I eat. Please tell what could be the cause of my headaches.

Neurologist 's  Response
Hello!

Welcome on Healthcaremagic!

Your symptoms seem to be related to chronic daily headache, which is a benign type of headache, usually related to psychological stress.
Chronic use of painkillers can lead to such type of headache.
Coming to this point, I would recommend consulting with a neurologist and discussing the possibility of starting a preventive therapy. In this regard, I would recommend amitriptyline (if no contraindications) or citalopram.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!
Best wishes, Dr. Aida
