What Causes Hearing Of Heart Beat Sounds In My Ear?

dear dr .k I AM 77 YEARS OLD,A MALE, FOR A YEAR ,I HAVE A TICK, TICK,,LIKE A TIME BOMB IN MY LEFT EAR ONLY.IT NEVER STOPS,,,,,,I WENT TO MY FAMILY DR.WHO SENT ME TO A EAR;NOSE and THROTE DR.AFTEER ALL TESTS HE PUT ME THRU,THIS INC.MRI,S AND 3DIFF. PRECRIPTIONS,THE ONLY THING LEFT IS INJECTIONS IN THE EAR OR NEAR THE EAR,,,,BUT HE DOES NOT RECOMEND THIS AT MY AGE.ITS NOT MY HEART ,,,IT BEATS 1 TIME A SECOND,THIS ;;TICK;;TICK BEATS 2 TIMES A SECOND,IT IS LOUD AND IT TAKES A WHILE TO GET TO SLEEP ANY INFO. WOULD BE APPRECIATED,J.B.IN PENNA.

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding hearing of heart beat like tick sound in your ear, though you had already been investigated by your ENT doctor. I would like to suggest you to please do these investigations with concent of your doctor-

1- Pure tone audiometry.

2- Impedance audiometry.

Probably in above investigations you will be found to be having higher frequncy hearing loss, this is an ageing phenominon.

To get relief with concent of your treating doctor you may take-

a- Caroverine.

b- Zincobilova.

c- GLA and Mecobalamine.

Probably above will help you otherwise hearing aid with tinnitus marker will solve your problem.
