What Causes Hearing Ringing Sounds In Ear?

my hubby is dibetic type 2. recently had a mild attack .( think like a stroke). He had been hearing ringing sound in the ear drum. He now hospitalised, with sugar level controlled. However, he s complaining that he can see his internal eyeball quite dirty and he hears rining sound in ears. Then the audible sound from our speech was being spelled reversely in his mind. Is he going nuts? His age is 47. Married with children. His been dibetic since young.
