General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello, Welcome to Ask a doctor services. I have read your query.

After a rich spicy dinner, acid reflux can cause heart burn or chest pain. You can give him antacids, PPI's (Pantoprazole - 40) for relieve.

However, sometimes MI may also manifest similar symptoms. Your husband is suggested to get a cardiac check up done at the earliest to stay on the safer side.

He will have to get CBC, Urinalysis, lipid function & stress tests done along with X-Ray, Echo, EKG done. The reports will determine whether there is a developing CAD(Coronary artery disease).

Your treatment will depend on the severity of the pathology detected. Hope I have answered your query. Take care.
